WELCOME TO THE DAN BOOTHBY FANSITE
(Created for my fan. I too was once a fan; I share your pain.)
My favourite review of ISLAND OF DREAMS is from someone who describes herself as distantly connected to the Maxwell clan. Towards the end of her email to me she wrote:
"I loved the observations about the intimate, one-sided bond of literature and the essential lie at the heart of that process. It's the unspoken heartbreak familiar to all passionate readers, and it's beautiful to see it expressed so clearly. I hope this book does well for you - it deserves to."
My Dear Fan,
Long ago and far away, ISLAND OF DREAMS: A Personal History of a Remarkable Place was published by Picador (in September 2015). It is available in hardback/paperback/e-book .
Island of Dreams was Waterstones' Scottish Book of the Month, April 2016.
